Funding for Road Decongestion in the Northern Suburbs

A re-elected Morrison Government will commit up to $20 million to congestion-busting major roadworks in Perth’s northern suburbs, which will create jobs and vastly improve road safety and traffic flow in one of Western Australia’s key industrial areas.

Liberal candidate for Pearce, Linda Aitken said the project would involve constructing a roundabout at a re-aligned Gnangara Road to intersect with Whitfords Avenue and Wanneroo Road, which would mean the long-awaited Gnangara re-alignment work could be brought forward by the City of Wanneroo.

“Realignment would decongest 60,000 vehicles through the intersection per day and unlock 1,000 businesses employing more than 8,000 people,” Ms Aitken said.

“It’s critical infrastructure like this that creates jobs and gets residents in our community home sooner and safer.”

Liberal member for Moore, Ian Goodenough MP said this project will be a welcome investment for Moore residents.

“With more residents moving into Pearsall, Madeley, Darch, Landsdale and surrounds, our road networks are under increasing pressure and congestion,” Mr Goodenough said.

“That’s why this investment is so important – it makes our roads safer while creating jobs for the WA economy.”

Only the Morrison Government will deliver a better future for Pearce and Moore and this is part of our plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
