Neerabup Industrial Area

Local employment self-sufficiency is one of Ian’s priorities – our freeways and roads are being clogged with commuter traffic. More local jobs are needed. During his tenure in local government Ian has strongly advocated for development of the Neerabup Industrial Area within the electorate and has lobbied Federal MPs to progress a project forecast to create 20,000 new jobs. Current delays are caused by two layers of bureaucracy with both State and Federal approvals processes.

R&D and Edith Curtin University

A strong supporter of Joondalup’s Higher Education Precinct, Ian will work towards increased Federal funding for Edith Cowan University and surrounding tertiary education institutions to promote research and development and address the skills shortage faced by industry. Ian passionately believes in supporting the commercialisation of Australian inventions and technology within Australia to minimise the costly exodus of Australian innovation overseas.
